A Prayer in Times of Uncertainty

Gracious Father … The path before us is not always clear. There are days when the way ahead seems hidden in fog and we cannot see where the next step will land. In these seasons of not knowing, our hearts grow anxious and our spirits restless. We long for certainty, for answers, for some sign that all will be well.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)

Yet You, O Lord, have never asked us to see the whole road. You have asked only that we trust the One who walks it with us. You who parted the waters and led Your people through the wilderness with a pillar of cloud and fire — You are the same God today. Your faithfulness has not diminished. Your promises have not grown old.

So anchor us, Lord, in what we know to be true even when we cannot see what lies ahead. You are sovereign. You are good. You are near. And that is enough. Still our anxious hearts and fill us with the peace that comes only from resting in Your unchanging character. We place our uncertain days into Your certain hands. Amen.
