A Prayer for the Weary
Heavenly Father … We come to You this day carrying burdens that feel heavier than we can bear. The road has been long and our steps have grown weary. The demands of this life have pressed in upon us and we have struggled to find the quiet places where Your still, small voice can reach us.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29, NIV)
Lord, forgive us for the times we have tried to carry what was never ours to hold alone. Teach us again what it means to lay our burdens at Your feet and to trust in the sufficiency of Your grace. Renew our strength as only You can, that we might rise again with wings like eagles, running and not growing weary, walking and not growing faint.
Grant us the peace that surpasses understanding and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May we find in You the rest that the world cannot give and cannot take away. Amen.
